Cox Communications extends the Cox Advantage program through the end of 2008
Cox Communications recently announced the extension of the Cox Advantage program through the end of 2008 in the Northern Virginia market. Now Cox Communications customers in Northern Virginia have even more reason to stick with the third-largest cable provider in the nation. The Cox Advantage program provides customers with over $1,000 a month in value to over one hundred different merchants throughout Northern Virginia. The program was first launched in March 2007 through a partnership with Complete Access LLC, a merchant promotions company.
When Cox Communications wanted a strong loyalty program for their customers they partnered with Complete Access. Since that time, Complete Access has helped its cable partner set up the Cox Advantage program, which rewards cable customers in good standing with a pre-loaded stored value card. The cards which are branded with Cox Communication’s logo provide it’s customers with hundreds of dollars worth of free value to a wide variety of local restaurants and retailers. Customers can present the gift cards at more than one hundred participating merchants, who will swipe the card, allowing the discount to be deducted from their total purchase. Each month the cards are then re-loaded with more stored-value, as long as the customer is in good standing. Customers can also view their account balances online, as well as a listing of the participating merchants.
The Cox Advantage program is an innovative new approach to customer retention. Complete Access continues to grow its merchant partners providing customers with a convenient way to shop at all their favorite places using just one card. The key to the success of this kind of program is the convenience. For now, consumers can start throwing out their Entertainment Books, and Starbucks cards, it appears that the Cox Advantage program is here to stay.
